Denominational Profile
History
The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America grew out of the split in the Romanian Church in America following World War II. It rejected ties to the church headquarters in Bucharest which it saw as dominated by the Communist government. The church has a close relationship with the Orthodox Church in America.
