The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) was originally created in 1977 and revised in 2004. It is one of the most widely-used scales in the field of psychiatric epidemiology. (Source: http://cesd-r.com/about-cesdr/)

Note: This dataset contains a condensed version of the CES-D scale, containing 12 questions of the full 20. In the full version, an individual scoring 16 or higher is considered depressed, and the scale is not used if more than 4 responses are missing.
