Press Releases > ARDA Announces New Learning Center and Online Tools

For immediate release: April 4, 2008

The Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA) has recently launched a new Learning Center and a series of new online tools for students and researchers.

The Learning Center offers downloadable topic-driven learning modules, an online survey allowing students to compare their responses to others, a statistical and religion dictionary, and religious and demographic profiles generated by entering a zip code. All of the services, including the learning modules, are free of charge.

Other new online tools include QuickStats, QuickLists and an expanded National Profiles. With a single click in QuickStats, see tables, graphs, and trends on religious attitudes and behavior from major national surveys. Or, use QuickLists to see data on religion in rank order for U.S. counties and states or for nations and regions. The expanded National Profiles now feature Google mapping, draw on statistics from the World Values Survey, and allow for up to 8 nations to be compared on a single screen.

The ARDA is housed at the Penn State University and is funded by the Lilly Foundation and the John Templeton Foundation. Visit the ARDA website at www.thearda.com.
