Basic Information

The principles and practice of Divine Science were developed in the late nineteenth century through the work of Aletha Brooks Small, Fannie Brook James, Nona Lovell Brooks (all sisters), and Malinda E. Cramer. When the sisters, who lived in Denver, Colorado, met Cramer, they all realized they had developed similar ideas independently. They joined forces in 1898 and organized the Divine Science College and the First Divine Science Church of Denver.
