Basic Information

The Presbyterian Church in the United States of America inherited the tradition of early Presbyterianism in the colonies and is in direct continuity with the first synod organized in 1706. It merged with the United Presbyterian Church of North America in 1958 to form the United Presbyterian Church in the USA, now a constituent part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
