ARDA MARC Download Files

Listed below are MARC and MARCXML files on the content included in Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA). The files can be downloaded and used free of charge.

The Base Set file contains all MARC records available as of September 2022.   These records were updated to include DOIs and new URLs, necessitated after the redesign of the ARDA Web site. Institutions that have previously loaded ARDA MARC records into their catalogs should download this new Base Set and use it to overwrite the ARDA records in their catalogs, matching on record ID in the MARC field 001.

To ensure complete coverage of ARDA resources in your catalog, download both the Base Set file and all available Update files.

Every six months an Update file containing records for resources new to the ARDA will be issued. To ensure complete coverage of ARDA resources in your catalog, download both the Base Set file and all available Update files. Note that files marked as 'Revised' should be loaded to overwrite exisiting records in your catalog.

Data Archive

These files include MARC records on the data and extensive metadata for more than 1,100 data collections.

College and Jr./Sr. High School Modules

These files provide MARC records for more than 60 learning modules that help students interactively explore the best data and information sources on religion.

Resource Files

These files provide MARC records for papers in the ARDA's Guiding Paper Series.
