Strict Baptists (1870s - Present) - Religious Group

Religious Family: Baptist
Religious Tradition: Evangelical Protestant
Description: Strict Baptists formed primarily in England as a loose association of churches with Calvinistic theology and restricted views of communion (closed table). They gradually strengthened through the 1860s and 1870s as some Particular Baptists denied the full deity of Christ. Strict Baptists united around the Gospel Standard magazine where they promoted the full deity of Christ.
