Description: The Association of Unity Churches, known since 2011 as Unity Worldwide Ministries, traces its origin back to the Unity movement founded in the 1880s by Charles S. Fillmore and his wife, Myrtle Fillmore. After a number of developments in the movement, the first Unity convention was held in 1923, and in 1925, a Unity annual conference was established to govern teachings and regulate leaders of Unity groups. Although this group was chartered in 1934, it went through several reorganizations before the Association of Unity Churches emerged as a distinct organization in 1966. In 2011, the group changed its name to Unity Worldwide Ministries.
