The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. was founded in 1919 by Robert Clarence Lawson, formerly a minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Doctrinally similar to the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith relied heavily on the leadership of Robert Clarence Lawson to form its distinct identity in New York City. The 2020 data were collected by the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies (ASARB) and include data for 373 religious bodies or groups. Of these, the ASARB was able to gather data on congregations and adherents for 217 and on congregations only for 156.
