About the Authors

 Paul Froese is a professor of sociology and a research fellow for the Institute for Studies of Religion. He has been teaching and researching at Baylor since 2002. A prolific author of books and articles, his research interests include the sociology of religion, comparative historical sociology, political sociology and ideology.

His previous book, The Plot to Kill God: Findings from the Soviet Experiment in Secularization, was published by University of California Press.

 Christopher D. Bader is associate professor of sociology at Baylor University and specializes in the sociology of religion, criminology and deviant behavior. He has published over 30 articles in journals in the fields of sociology, deviance, criminology, the sociology of religion and education. He currently serves as associate director at the Association of Religion Data Archives (www.TheArda.com).

His co-authored book with F. Carson Mencken and Joseph O. Baker, Paranormal America: Ghost Encounters, UFO Sightings, Bigfoot Hunts, and Other Curiosities in Religion and Culture will be released by New York University Press in October of 2010.
